JF Studios is my professional website, where you can see what I post here, along with more photography and art work, prices, tutorials, and a free Coloring Book that has mainly Horses, some rats, and a few other animals. Equine Genetics have been a on going interest of mine for a long time, and recently I have gotten into Canine and Rat color genetics as well. As I keep learning new things, I’ll attempt to update this journal.

Update 2 September 2009: There has been many changes in the genetic world, new genes discussed, nomenclature changes, and new tests arriving. After finding the right group to talk to, I believe I'll get some answers to long time puzzling questions, as well as corrections to statements I've made prior. I do plan on updating these and changing them around, it will take some time tho.

Welcome
And thank you for stopping by. My name is Jacqueline, and I’ve been actively researching various Animal Color Genetics since High School (don’t ask me to count the years). Primarily I’ve been involved with Equine Coat Color genetics, but recently got involved with Canine and Rodent Color as well.

Due to individual typing, we create our own unique structure for a genotype. This can get confusing for some, specifically when we use different letters and symbols, and sometimes this can result in a misrepresentation of a color. This is not my intention, and I apologize ahead of time if things become skewed. I have written “Starting Points” for each species, which will hopefully make it easier for you to read.
