Equine Genetics have been a on going interest of mine for a long time, and recently I have gotten into Canine and Rat color genetics as well. My Stable: Cheshire Farms
We are proud to introduce our new line of North American Spanish Sport Horses, established on March 18, 2008. The creation of this line is founded on the American mustang. But not just any horse will do! We selectively breed and choose mustangs and other Spanish horses based on type, color, personality, and most important, blood. The North American Mustang has not always been appreciated to its fullest potential, but history hasn't stopped us. Today we continue to breed the best of performance lines, with aims to enhance the breed so they can excel in different disciplines. Our emphasis has always been on working horses that look good doing their jobs.

What is Cheshire Farms?
We are located in the heart of horse country on 650 rolling oak laden acres in beautiful Florida. We are a private gated community for equine enthusiasts of all backgrounds. We host an array of public facilities to our members, ranging from on call veterinary service, to free use of our 350 acre show ground on location (west of our stable). We have members from all walks of life, and do not discriminate between different types of equitation. Adjacent to the 350 acre show ground, we have 150 acres of private obstacle trails, which connect to miles of public trails where you never need to cross a road (north of the farm). While we manage and operate the grounds with family and friends, we also breed, train, and show our own horses (facility pictured here [link]).

North American Spanish Sport Horse
We are currently striving for an all in one horse that is founded from wild mustang stock. By selectively crossing these horses to others of our choosing, we insure quality over quantity. Prior to being considered for the breeding program, all of our adopted mustangs are blood typed and graded. We adopt older stock, as well as young stock, however our young stock go right into training while the older stock remain halter broke and are used for breeding only. All foals bred by us are trained for all ground manners up until a year before being considered for sale. Most foals will remain with us, were they will learn lounging, rein and foot work till the age of three. We do not fit them with a rider until they are three years of age. We take it slow with our horses because we know the importance of foal development. At four years old we enter them into their first low level competition and gauge from there. We do not breed horses younger then five years old, and really don’t start their high level competition till around seven or eight years old.
