This year for Thanksgiving I'm thankful for...

Mon Nov 23, 2009, 8:17 PM
...DA having a damn Select All button. This isn't LiveJournal little girls, keep your drama where it belongs. I had journals turned off completely at one point, but with the HARPG growing so much, I missed out on good stuff, so stupidly I've turned them back on. I've already begun unwatching really good artists because I'm tired of their pitty-ass-parties one morning, and the I'm-so-sorry post that follows like a hang over from bad sex and alcohol. That kind of emoness is for the Furries, not DA. Plus we have really great medications for that kind of instability.

If you're going to be chased out of a great place for something stupid, that's your loss. If you're dumb enough to follow them, that's you're loss. And if you're one of those people who woe-as-me-everyone-is-leaving, think of it as you're gain. LESS SPAM!

And hopefully this is the only spam-like bitching journal you'll ever have the misfortune of reading from me. Just as long as you know why I may have missed your awesome HARPG Contest or Adoption.

HARPG Raing Event Possibilities

Fri Oct 2, 2009, 11:02 AM
When doing some photo research, I stumbled upon a race held in Spain where horses race along the beach. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in this, maybe do it for the SSH Fall Classic?

:bulletpurple: JF STUDIOS :bulletpurple: COLORING BOOK & TUTORIALS :bulletpurple: GENETICS :bulletpurple:
JF Studios is my professional website, where you can see what I post here, along with more photography and art work, prices, tutorials, and a free Coloring Book that has mainly Horses, some rats, and a few other animals. Equine Genetics have been a on going interest of mine for a long time, and recently I have gotten into Canine and Rat color genetics as well. As I keep learning new things, I’ll attempt to update this journal.

OTHER ART RPG GAMES: :bulletblue: STABLE :bulletblue: KENNEL :bulletblue: RATTERY :bulletblue:

Welcome! Cheshire Farms is proud to announce the first, of hopefully many, HARPG Shows to be hosted on our brand new 350 acre show ground (image in progress). I don't expect it to be a very large turn out, but the rules are simple, and people should have fun doing it.

If you have a show please let us know! We'd love to enter it!

Please check back and make sure you're horse is entered. We are doing a number of things at once and may miss it. Edit 11/30 The NASSHA is now known as the SSHA (Spanish Sport Horse Association) and has a new set of guidelines which opens the registry to other approved breeds.

Fall Classic Entry Rules
1. Edit 9/26: The SSHA and Open Classes will be combined and compete against one another.
2. NASSH Class is only open to those horses approved by the North American Spanish Sport Horse Association. To get approval please follow this link [link]
3. Edit 9/30 Open Classes are other Iberian horses that have not applied to the SSHA or SSHA Breeding Stock which has been approved. New SSHA rules allow heavy horses, warmbloods, and other light breeds to apply. Those approved horses may participate in the show.
4. Non SSHA approved Cross Breeds must be at least 25% Iberian Type.
5. For each class you enter, you have to draw that horse participating in the class. The horse can be with or with out rider.
6. Edit 9/30 Entry applications should be realistic for that event, some some research may be needed. Something totally off the path will be disqualified. This doesn't mean you have to be photo realistic, not at all. By Event realism I mean having the proper tack and decor for the event. The background doesn't need to be spot on, but there needs to be a background (horse can't just be floating).
7. Registration ends November 27th.
8. The event is a 3 day event from Nov. 27th to the 29th.
9. Edit 11/30 The way the event will be judged by using an online random number generator. Each entry will receive a number.
10. Edit 11/30 And this is the very important rule. HAVE FUN!! Also I plan on entering some of these events, if anyone has any objections about me entering, please let me know, I'll have some one else do the number generator instead.
11. The turf can be either dirt or grass, the way the barn is designed is he Track is dirt, Steeple Chasing is Grass. Dressage, Jumping, and Halter have either or (depending on how many rings need to be used). Western is indoors and in dirt. Endurance and Working Equitation is All Terrain, and Bull-less Fighting is done outside in Dirt. Conditions of the day are normal for fall time in Florida, which means sunny with a slight breeze and possibly a sun shower in the middle of the afternoon.

Theft and Impersonation

Sun Sep 27, 2009, 9:58 AM
Update September 27, 2009: 9 days later and 2 emails, no word still. Anyone know how to contact their web host provider?

Update September 24, 2009: I sent them a final email yesterday, requesting to be informed of some kind of action having taken place. All I want to know is they are acknowledging the situation. With out some kind of acknowledgment, I can only assume they don't care and have done nothing.

Update September 23, 2009: It's been 5 days now, and sadly the people at Horse-Nation have not responded to my email. On top of that I am STILL getting messages from other players now about this false JNFerrigno selling my art. Since HN is not taking care of this in a timely matter, I'm relying on you guys to help me out here. I'm personally not below harassment, or players or game creators. Some times you need to light a match under someones ass to get them to pay attention. I honestly don't think it's a language barrier, they were able to develop a game after all.

Game: [link] (Dutch)

Thank you :iconxentourage: for informing me of a player impersonating me in this game. There is a player impersonating me as JNFerrigno in the game, once confronted they removed their post but apparently they were using my free line arts and selling them off as if they were their own. They even went as far as to copy what ever information I posted on my DA account (which is out of date) and make up a little side story as to why they were in America.

This is foolish, and rather sad, that a person has to steal someone elses name because they don't have the courage to make one for themselves. I've messaged the administration, but I do not know if they understand English or not, lord knows I don't speak a lick of Dutch. I hope that they IP ban that person, and if now I will be extremely sore about it.

Over the years I've had a lot of watchers of mine let me know when theft goes down, and I thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for standing up for me. I don't mean to brag or anything, but the coloring book is very well known internationally among the horse gamers, unfortunately a side effect of that popularity is always theft.

The Feral Horse Auction
Our older horses have arrived! After being is quarantine for so long they are finally here. Cheshire Farms feels that these horses represent some of the best Feral Spanish lines out there, and they want to share with you their treasures.

However this will be a little different than the Foal adoption. This will actually be a speed drawing contest of the sorts, to see who gets the horse. I have given such a short number of days, because this will lessen the competition over the other horses.

CONGRATULATIONS to our new Adopters! We hope you and your new horses have lots of dun times together.

The rest will go into the Cheshire Farms Training Program

Update 30 SeptemberPlease make sure I have everyone's entries updated. Any horses that do not get claimed, will either go into the breeding program, or be used as 'lesson' horses for Cheshire Farms.

Update 28 September The Foals are also open adoption like the aged horses, the same rules apply to all of them. There is 2 more days to get your art in. Even if a horse has a name under it, it's only there to remind me of who all wants to draw that horse, none of these horses are taken till the end. EDIT: You can add white markings to the Adult horses since there are no photos of them. Also if you post a comment, and reply to that comment, I do not see it. So if you have a comment, start a new one or else I will miss it completely. This is what happened during the Foal auction.

Update 27 September I've attached pictures that I thought best resembled the colors, I don't expect you to copy these exactly tho, uses some creative artistic license.

How To Adopt
1. To Adopt you first must post your request in this journal, please provide barn name and link. You must be a member of the HARPG.
2. You will have till September 30th to draw and color the horse.
3. You must draw individual full body shots, no combining them together.
4. Below is a description of the horses color, the goal is to make your color interpretation match up as realistically as you can. You may have to use google or horse color websites.
For Example: Unnamed 3yo Mare Liver Chestnut Genes: Aa/ee/nBCS Blood Typing: 90% Iberian Color: Almost Black Liver mare with Bird Catcher Spots.
My Image: [link]
5. On the 30th, I will look at all the entries, and who ever I think got the color the most realistic will get to adopt the mare.
6. Any that don't get claimed may be reauctioned or kept by Cheshire Farms.

Click on individual pictures to learn more about the horse and where it comes from.
