Description

So the girls are home! They finished out their quarantine and have been released in the pasture near the house for now.

One of the mares, who's very special to us, has already deemed herself as HMIC (head mare in charge). She is the Pearl Hispano-Portugues, in other words in the states she'd be referred to a Andalusian-Lusitano cross breed. She is out of M-Fuego (a Buckskin Pearl) and Zana (PRE chestnut mare). Pearl is a new dilution, to find out more visit here [link] She is our second horse to grace Cheshire Farms with the Perl gene. The first horse, a Lusitano stallion named CF Avispados Pearl, is currently in training and will be considered for stud in the future.

The second mare (seen in the lead) that we really had to press for is a Greying Grulla mare out of Favorito XLVIII (Paco Lazo bloodline), [link] a unique homozygous black Andalusian stallion who is suspected of carrying a Dun gene unique to only Iberian horses.

She's followed by a Chestnut mare out of the Pallares bloodline.

The Dun-Skin mare is a Hispano-Portugues out of the Lusitano stallion Q. She did not inherit his suspected Pearl, however she did inherit his dun characteristics. In the winter time she has a facial mask and extreme shoulder shadowing.

Next to her is a registered Bay Andalusian mare that actually tests for Brown instead.

She is followed by a very well built Sooty Bay Bohorquez bred Andalusian mare.

The young Sandy Bay mare bringing up the lead is bred by the Candau family.

The Black mare is of Martinez Boloix blood, and is EE/aa like many of their horses.

She has a cousin, bred by a private breeder that is actually EE/aa/Cc, that makes her Smokey Black and you can tell this by her Perlino colt in tow.

The Sooty Light Bay is from the Yeguada Militar Bloodline out of famous Andalusian Agente.

In front of her is a Chestnut going Grey Romero Benitez bred Andalusian mare.

And the Cremello with Palomino colt in tow is a Paco Lazo Andalusian mare.

Are any of these for sale? I'm interested in the graying chestnut, the grulla, and the registered bay that tests for black.
