This was created for a contest on VirtualHorseRanch.com. This was a pain to draw and color. The front end might be wonky because honestly, I couldn't find any photos of horses running with nice conformation.
Ever notice that no mater what a horse is doing, one of the front legs just looks wonky the moment the camera man takes the photo lol. So I tried to make it as realistic as possible with out one of those awakward leg-snapping bends.

Lovin' it, gorgeous. However, your bays are still really, really light. Remember how when you did Echo's commission and then you looked at it on a different computer and it was really light? This one's really light, too.
It's supposed to be that way. This was the reference piece [link] . My excuse for Echo was she was the very first horse that I did in a realistic graphic way. Never had I ever done a background as well. But yeah she was lite. And I still need to send you that picture. Hopefully I've gotten better since her.
Yeha thats right before my computer screen went kaputty. And now have have this huge ass HD screen staring back at me. It's liek 19 inches long or something, which is why my stuff comes out so big lol.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
